Westward Ho!

Dirt-turned-cafe at See See Motorcycles in Portland, OR

 Words to live by.

Jeff's American Classics in Dundee Oregon, go there.

Jeff in action.

On the 5th of August, I moved from Detroit to Los Angeles with my girlfriend and everything we owned in the back of a rented truck. Couldn't help but feel like early settlers in a covered wagon, leaving the old life behind and moving west for the promise of something better. What's more American than that? We arrived in the city of Angels on the 9th of August, and less than a week later we saddled up the garbage wagon and made tracks north to Portland for a wedding. I don't recall many details of our two-wheeled journey, mainly because this month all blends together as one perpetual blur, but what sticks out is this: 1.) Riding motorcycles on the east side of the Sierra Mountains in the summer is the wrong thing to do. Swamp ass is a constant, and there is no relief from the heat. But the mountains are pretty. 2.) The Oregon coast is absolutely stunning, and the Pacific ocean is one bad mother. Period. And lastly, 3.) Thor at See See motorcycle helps run the coolest motorcycle and coffee shop ever, and their dirt bike-turned-cafe racer will be coming to an issue of DicE in the near future. In the mean time, I'm glad to be back in my new home of L.A., and I look forward to help keeping DicE magazine the best flippin' magazine in the whole wide world.

Yours truly, Jordan Zielke
