Our fratello, Davide Terrenghi has had a dream for many years now, he wants his own Wall of Death. Fair enough, and why not? Now Davide works in a small shoe shop in Milan and has a lovely wife and bambino, funds are in short supply. However, he has never lost sight of his dream, he just knew it's what he wanted to do. He also knew he had to start with a 20's or early 30's Indian Scout, and I don't blame him. For what seemed like the longest time he worked and saved every spare penny he could. A couple of bargain "I couldn't possibly pass them up" bikes came and went, two Jawa speedway machines and an early Triumph, Davide and his dad refurbished all three and sold them on, adding a few more Euros to the pot. Then Davide got a lead on not one but two Wall of Death Scouts, cheap. Panic! phone calls, emails, begging, selling anything that wasn't tied down and smashing the piggy bank was all it took. The Yellow tank bike is a 1930 101 with what looks like a shortened frame. The Red tank machine is a 1920 model, both ridden, lots, on the wall back in the 60's, up and down the Florida coast mostly. The hangtag in the first picture was attached to the handlebars of the 101, it tells a little of their history. Both wear the scars of the sport, they have been patched up, ridden, patched up again and then ridden some more, very hard. Davide and his dad plan on just getting them running and leaving every crack, dent and scratch in place. And all of this has happened to one of the nicest people in the whole world too, good work my friend. Incidently, I just heard he has also tracked down a complete Wall Of Death 'Track' in great condition. It is currently being used and toured around eastern Europe by some gypsies, they want 6000 Euros for it. Anyways, Davide is saving again and his full intention is to ride his very own wall, brilliant!!
Lucky, lucky bloke!! They look amazing as they are, so glad to hear he's not tempted to 'restore' em
