Coming soon to the pages of the dee, the eye, the sea and double e. Ok, I know it's only one e but double just sounds better. If you like late 70's rap that is.
In the 70's I grew up in a run down neighbourhood in west London that was I guess a UK ghetto. Mostly black families, relocated there from the West Indies in the mid 60's. A lot of my friends were the sons and daughters, the next generation of those first immigrants. I absolutely loved living there. In fact I lived in the same neighbourhood for 36 years. Those early years shaped my entire life. I was working at a hardware store called Nu Lines in '79 and every lunchtime I would go across the road to a small cafe, see my mates and have a couple of tokes on a spliff (yeah, I still remember the lingo) before going back to work. It was always packed in there. One day I walked in and this was playing on the Hi-Fi. The place was jumping. I was blown away. I knew the baseline very well and heard toasting many times but this was new and different. It was one of those moments I will never forget. It's always amazing to me how music can pin point memories. I went straight round the corner and bought the 12" from Rough Trade records when they were still on Kensington Park Road with that wagon wheel hanging up outside. Most likely the only record shop in the UK that would of carried it at that time. I still have it, I still listen to it and it still sounds brilliant.
Matt.

Poop Bike.
'Japan unveils motorbike (erm, that really should be trike) powered by animal waste'
Billed as the world’s first waste-powered vehicle, the three-wheeler has a
lavatory in place of a regular seat and huge paper roll at the back. But as a young female model climbed aboard for a test drive on Wednesday,
lavatory giant TOTO was quick to point out that she would not supply the
“gas”.
“The biogas it uses as fuel is not made from human waste. It’s made from
livestock waste and sewage,” Kenji Fujita, a company spokesman, told
reporters in a Tokyo suburb.
“We hope to raise awareness among customers about our green campaign through
development of environmentally-friendly products such as water-saving
showerheads and water-saving toilets,” Fujita added.
The company – which makes lavatories equipped with an array of features
including heated seats, water jets with pressure and temperature controls,
and ambient background music – has no plans to commercialise the motorbike (trike).
Tribute.
Our buddy Nelson Coelho from Portugal passed away recently. RIP my brother, you will be missed. This post and photo (winning first place in the Cafe Racer category btw) are a tribute to him.
As is so often the case news like this can put everything into perspective.

Instagram Camera
It seems all my mates (and Kim Kardashian) are on Instagram these days. I don't do the whole Facebook, Twitter thang but I'm a big fan of Instagram. Mostly because it's photography based and I like photography. I have also found that with Instagram, along with those other 2 social media applications I mentioned, people can often read too much into what one is up to, which in turn can cause a whole lot of unforeseen problems. Misrepresentation and all that, but I guess in a way, that's what it's all about somehow. Anyways, I digress. Look how cool this little baby is! The Instagram Socialmatic is a flat touchscreen camera with a built-in printer and 16GB storage capacity. It has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities—allowing users to share pictures instantly, without the need to print them. It also comes equipped with two different camera lenses—one for normal pictures and another for filtered shots. It should be out the middle of next year. Let's hope they keep the price down.
Tri Co Thermals.
We had also sold out of many of our T shirts. However, we have now fixed that and have all sizes in all designs back in stock. Once again, get one H#E#R#E
Iffley Road, Earth.
Every once in awhile we get a letter from Ed complete with stamp and postal mark. To say it's a treat is a bit of an understatement. Emails, text's, Instagram etc are a quick and convenient way of staying in touch for sure but a letter dropping onto the doormat complete with painstakingly drawn envelope (of my pan and the MFMC logo btw) and hand written note is sheer pleasure. Thank you Ed, you made my day.

Dice Party. Brooklyn. Friday. September 21st.
On the Friday evening in Brooklyn, the day before the Brooklyn Invitational at around 7pm, we are having a special showing of 6over at a movie house in Williamsburg. It's free to get in but is limited to only 100 seats. More info on where to get tickets coming soon. Right after that is the Dice party, also in Williamsburg, at the Gutter Bar. It's a great venue, bowling, beer and music. What a special day for fun then. And what a weekend to be in NY.

Berlin Wall Ride. Germany.
The Berlin Wall Ride - 2012 from le chriz on Vimeo.
Our good friend Shane has a great store in Berlin called Burg & Schild. Once a year he hosts a party and organises a ride, around, on and through the now defunct Berlin wall. This year the weather really sucked but the boys still had a good time. This is a fantastic video and definitely worth a watch. Enjoy.Hold My Hand. No, That's Not My Hand.
If you have a spare half hour, the best episode they did.

Up On The 33
Riverside. Putney, London.
Come on, hands up everyone who rides a Harley in and around London who hasn't been saved by a much needed part from Jeff's shop. There's not many that's for sure. He may be expensive and he doesn't suffer fools lightly but you want an MOT, or the best Harley mechanic in Britain (yes Toshi, that is you) to work on your bike if you can't be bothered to do it yourself, or indeed you need a part desperately, from any year, then he is your man. Jeff and Toshi were also in the group of us that rode down to the Linkert in France and you couldn't ask for better riding mates.
Cheers bruvs.
