I bought this deck jacket off a geezer in London quite some years ago now. It gets worn a lot for winter riding, it's warm and toasty. Ok so nothing really interesting about that, except I have always been intrigued about the writing on the back. So after some exhaustive detective work, which meant typing the name into Google, I discovered it belonged to a crew member of the USS Odax submarine that was commisioned in 1945. They have a website, I sent some emails to the contacts on the site but no one has ever got back to me. It's kinda basic but they do have some great old crew member pics on there.
I an identical jacket that my grandfather wore during WWII. They work great for riding in cold weather, eh?
