Art and Wheels Show and Dice Party. Basel, Switzerland.
Art and Wheels Basel is a free-admission & non-profit event that brings together bikers, builders, artists and the average gearhead to have a great weekend of partying, riding, art and wheels. The idea of this event is to open up the spectrum of traditional biker imagery and present the versatile culture of modern motorcycle riding. There is more to it than beards, skulls, beer, and leather jackets. Modern motorcycle culture involves aspects of Skateboarding, Punk Rock, Hot Rodding, BMX and a million other things. The event brings together all these different subcultures under the focus of custom motorcycles. Present at the show will be various custom motorcycles, paintings, photographs, handcrafted art and many more. Additionally, there will be an outside parking lot where spectators can park their own custom bikes. Before the show itself you can spend a relaxed Friday afternoon in Basel and its surroundings, ride your bike and chill at the river Rhine before hitting the free admission DicE Party with its two live bands at PORTLAND BOWL, Uferstrasse, Basel – CH from 8:00 pm to 12:00 pm. For those who want to participate in the „last man standing contest“, they have teamed up with legendary „IRRSINN BAR“ , Rebgasse 43, Basel – CH, where the party will continue after midnight but keep in mind: The Art and Wheels show itelf will be held Saturday from 12 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the M54 Gallery, Mörsbergerstrasse 54, in the heart of Basel. Again, it’s a free-admission event with a relaxed vibe supported by a DJ heating up the venue with some solid rock tunes. The after show venue for Saturday night is again the legendary „IRRSINN BAR“, Rebgasse 43, Basel. For Sunday after the show everybody is invited to participate in a Ride-Out in which all invited builders and artists will participate to celebrate what this thing is all about: riding motorcycles. Everyone will gather at HD Basel – Richards Motorcycles, Andlauring 32, 4147 Aesch - CH to collectively enjoy a beautiful ride through Basel’s backland and some relaxing time and place with mountain view, a little BBQ and a few brews, before everybody splits to follow his own route home.
